NC AI News tells the story of artificial intelligence in North Carolina: who’s building it, who’s adopting it, who it serves, and who it leaves out. We’re locally owned and operated from Wilmington, and we cover AI like a hometown beat — because for North Carolina, it is one.
Our newsroom runs on a designed system. AI agents sweep sources, surface stories, and draft reports around the clock. A human editor-in-chief designs the loops, verifies the facts, and decides what’s real, what matters, and what gets published. The machines do the sweeping. A human owns the story.
Vision
To be the outlet North Carolina’s builders, buyers, and policymakers turn to when they need to know what AI actually means for them — and the hub that connects the state’s AI economy to the people it’s supposed to serve.
Who we are
AI is remaking North Carolina’s economy right now — healthcare, energy, data centers, farming, startups — and the state deserves coverage from someone who lives here, not a feed scraped together from elsewhere. NC AI News is a media hub owned and operated by a Wilmington local, publishing for the whole state.
How the newsroom works
We’re transparent about this because it’s the thing that makes us different:
- Sweep — agents watch the wire, university releases, filings, and local government docs around the clock.
- Surface — candidates come back as headlines with links and no verdicts. Nothing is decided by the machine.
- Verify — every story is checked against primary sources. We follow the money, the filing, the quote.

- Decide — the editor-in-chief edits, cuts, or kills it. Nothing publishes without a human call.
- Correct — when we get it wrong, we fix it fast and note the change. No quiet edits.
What we won’t do
